Tasks of the Bar Association

The Bar Association is a public corporation formed by its members. The tasks of the Bar Association result from the law. Thereafter, it has the following tasks in particular:

• admission of the members of the Stuttgart Bar Association
• Advising members on their professional matters
• mediation in disputes between members as well as in disputes between member and client
• monitoring the fulfilment of the professional duties of the members
• participation in the training and examinations of students and trainee lawyers
• the submission of expert opinions to the State Administration of Justice, the courts or the administrative authorities
• the performance of the tasks as the competent body for the training of paralegals

Lawyer search

All lawyers admitted to practice in Germany are stored in the Federal Uniform Bar Register together with their membership of the chamber and other information.

In the regional lawyer search, you can search specifically for lawyers in the district of the Stuttgart Bar Association. The district of the Stuttgart Bar Association comprises the regional court districts of Ellwangen, Heilbronn, Stuttgart and Ulm. In the regional lawyer search, a search for specialist areas is possible. Please note that in the regional lawyer search you will only find the members of the Stuttgart Bar Association who have requested an entry in the regional lawyer search.
